Buzzkill: Feds fire warning shot over pot legalization
Thu Dec 6, 2012
Roe v. Wade established that as human beings, what we do with our body is our own business. Yes, I know it didn't say that explicitly, but that is the underlying premise. I get to do what I want with my body. Might be using alcohol, or something else that changes how my body works.
Coast Guardsman dies as suspected drug boat rams cutter
Mon Dec 3, 2012
I grieve for his family. If most "drugs" were legal, regulated or not, this wouldn't have happened. Why? smuggling wouldn't be necessary? Do people still make moonshine? Yes. But name the last time someone in law enforcement was murdered over it, please.
How March Madness and 'panties' figure into hearing of Bradley Manning
Sun Dec 2, 2012
Here's what I don't understand. Life in prison is death in prison in the military (no parole). So they are seeking death. So why do they care how he dies? Death is death. Dying in prison is dying in prison.
Status check: Extreme travelers sit through taxing 'mileage runs'
Fri Nov 30, 2012
Last year it took me 50 hours to get from Salt Lake City to St. Louis. I let myself get bumped for vouchers, again for vouchers and a little cash. Use my hotel points to stay overnight for free, and earned 2300 miles, $1400 in vouchers, and only paid for two meals.
Cory Booker to live on $1.40 per meal, honoring food stamp challenge
Fri Nov 30, 2012
@dodiny. Maybe where you live food is discounted if people use SNAP, but in Missouri, the only difference is sales taxes are not charged. The "sticker price" is the same. So everyone pays $1.45 for a can of soup.
Northern Plains on alert for blizzard conditions
Fri Nov 9, 2012
Since when does the NWS or the companies/agencies that partner with it name winter storms? Is there a policy change I missed on the news in the past couple of months? I would be interested in the criteria for naming spring/summer multi-state thunderstorm breakouts, will they have name also? And i …
NYC 'micro maximalist' turns teeny-tiny apartment into work of art

I live in a one-bedroom in Kansas City of less than 600 so I can live where I want to live.
Use credit cards wisely to safeguard credit rating
Thu Oct 4, 2012
Better yet, live credit-free as some radio show hosts argue. That way, it doesn't matter what you credit score is. And yes, that includes a home. Having enough savings to pay for a year lease up-front usually means it doesn't matter what my score is or isn't.
Judge OKs Arizona's show-me-your-papers law
Wed Sep 5, 2012
So, here's my question... this country allowed so many immigrants in the late 19th and early 20th Century of white people. Many were not of the then "common faith," they were Catholic. My parents came here because they were LDS (Mormon). They came from England.
Teenager with Down syndrome not allowed to board American Airlines flight
Wed Sep 5, 2012
There are specific federal regulations that require airlines to make accommodations for individuals with disabilities (no, the ADA doesn't apply to airlines). He make make other customers uncomfortable or irritated, but he can't interfere with the flight crew in a locked, reinforced cockpit.
